[Ramblings of Rictus] Greetings...

I was recently invited to write some articles for MWC and it seemed the most appropriate way to start things rolling was with an introduction.

Hello.

My name is Rictus.

It seems to of been Rictus for a very long time though in reality I only started using it when I began posting on Portent not long before its reincarnation as Warseer. I then spread onto Work In Progress, Da Waaagh and The Ammobunker forums before earlier this year taking the step to move into blogging when I set up Recalcitrant Daze.

I fell completely and fully into the hobby we all love and hate back in 1990 when I bought White Dwarf #124 (in the days when WD was worth the price). I have been unable to claw my way clear ever since and over the years I’ve worked my way through many game systems and too many different armies.

I am far more of a modeller than a gamer, and far more into converting than painting; basically I paint only as a last resort. As such I have far too much sitting in boxes unbuilt, half built or unpainted. One day I will finish an army. One day.

Most of you will be unfamiliar with what I have done in the past so much like a pimp pushing his wares here is a small selection of my models…

Hades Drill & Sentinel Power Lifter

Ork Looted Wagon & Mekboy Junka

Deffstrike Rokkit Launcha & Da Choppa

Nurgle Dreadnought, Land Raider & BFG Daemonvessel

AdMech Chimera & Iron Warriors Daemon Engine

Inquisitorial Landing Pad

I’m not sure what articles I will be doing for MWC yet, but I am sure one will not be far away. If anyone has seen some of my work before and has a suggestion for an article please let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

In the meantime thanks for those who took the time to read this and thanks to the MWC guys for inviting me to contribute.

  1. nice conversions, i dislike the chaos ones but I must confess that they have a wonderful work.

the landing pad is amazing along or just below the death strike and orks.

    way to keep modelling.

  3. Thanks for the welcome.

The first article should be up in a day or two I believe. Only a short one to get me going but hopefully people will enjoy it.
